Warriors, do you have a poor internet connection at home? There may be hope on the horizon!
The State of Michigan is receiving $1.6 billion in federal funds to upgrade internet infrastructure throughout the state.
In order to determine which areas of the state do not have access to high-speed internet, Michigan is hosting a Broadband Mapping Challenge. Residents can visit merit.edu/challenge to check the state internet map for their home address and submit necessary corrections for their area.
The result of the challenge will be a final state broadband map that will be used to determine which locations are eligible for federal funds to improve internet infrastructure.
This program is a great opportunity to help improve internet service for homes in the Chippewa Hills district!
The deadline for residents to participate in the challenge and correct the state map, is Wednesday, April 24.
If you have any questions about the challenge website or communication materials, please contact Merit Network at challenge@merit.edu.
