📐 Geometry came to life in Mrs. Hampel’s third grade class at Weidman Elementary this week!
Students used popsicle sticks to build shapes, stretched rubber bands on nail boards, and mapped out angles with masking tape—learning through creativity, teamwork, and lots of hands-on fun.
It’s amazing what a little imagination (and a few school supplies) can do! Way to go, third graders! 💙❤️

Looking for Youth Sports Info? Start Here!
With the start of the spring sports season, we’re getting a lot of questions about youth sports teams—and we’re excited to see so many families getting involved!
If you’re looking for details about your child’s team, registration status, or schedule, the best way to get accurate information is by contacting the appropriate youth sports organization directly.
Please don’t call the school—our staff is unable to answer specific questions about youth sports programs. These teams are run by local organizations, not the school district.
Not sure who to contact? We’ve got you covered! Visit our website for a list of youth sports leagues in the Chippewa Hills area and their contact information:

🔥 The Triwizard Tournament: A Magical Showdown! 🔥
The Friday before Spring Break was an EPIC day at Chippewa Hills Middle School! They held a school-wide Triwizard Tournament to wrap up their Harry Potter-themed March is Reading Month adventure —and it was an absolute blast!
Before the fun began, Slytherin House (6th Grade) was crowned House Cup Champions for reading the most hours all month long!
Then, the Triwizard Tournament kicked off with three thrilling tasks:
🥚 Golden Egg Heist – A capture-the-flag-style battle to steal the other team’s golden egg… while dodging dragon fireballs!
🌊 Great Lake Rescue – Teams had to rescue a stranded teammate using only the tools provided—without touching the floor!
🌀 Triwizard Maze – Blindfolded teammates navigated a tricky maze with only their partner’s voice to guide them!
In the end, the 6th graders of Slytherin House conquered the competition, winning the Triwizard Tournament! The fun didn’t stop there – the grand finale was an EPIC Slytherin vs Staff dodgeball showdown!
The energy was contagious, the cheers were loud, and it was the perfect ending to a magical month of reading and fun!
🌸 SPRING BREAK STARTS… NOW! 🌸
Warriors, it’s time to log out, pack up, and enjoy a well-earned break! Sleep in, have fun, stay safe, and make some memories!
We’ll see you back in action on Monday, April 7!

🚀✨ Blast Off with Mrs. Williams! ✨🚀
Weidman Elementary students had a stellar experience this week thanks to longtime and beloved substitute teacher Mrs. Williams!
Mrs. Williams recently attended Space Academy at NASA (how cool is that?!), and she shared her out-of-this-world experience with our Warriors. Her presentation fit perfectly with Weidman’s space theme for March is Reading Month, and the kids were absolutely over the moon!
Thank you, Mrs. Williams, for bringing the wonder of space exploration to Weidman Elementary! You are truly a star to our students!

REMINDER: Friday, March 28 is an Early Release Day before we start Spring Break!
The High School & Middle School will be released at 12:00 PM. Elementary Schools are released at 12:15 PM.

🔧 Warrior Robotics Team Ready for Competition! 🔧
Our High School Robotics team is ready for an incredible weekend at the FIRST Robotics event at Ferris State University this weekend! FIRST – For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology – is all about students, coaches, and mentors working together to design, build, and program robots to compete in exciting games.
This year’s challenge, “Reef Scape,” has our team placing “coral” (a 12x4-in PVC pipe) on a reef, and with its new swervedrive drivetrain, our robot is quick and nimble, ready to take on the competition!
Ferris will be hosting over 750 students from 40 teams across the state, and we’re thrilled our Warriors will be a part of it! Check out these behind-the-scenes shots of our team completing the final touches on their robot.
Good luck this weekend, Warrior Robotics!

🏆 CSAA CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS! 🏆
Huge congratulations to our High School Quiz Bowl team who recently won the CSAA Conference Championship for the first time in school history!
These incredible students showed off their quick thinking, teamwork, and vast knowledge to bring home the title!
Way to represent Chippewa Hills with pride! Congratulations, Warrior Quiz Bowl!

🌟 Our Middle School Honor Society students had a day full of service and smiles on Friday! 🌟
They started their morning at Mecosta Elementary, where they read with students, played games, worked on multiplication tables, and helped with schoolwork—making a big difference for our younger Warriors.
Then, they headed to the Mecosta County Commission on Aging, where they had the incredible opportunity to serve lunch alongside Michigan’s Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist! 🏛️✨ After lunch, they kept the fun going by helping run bingo for the seniors.
A huge shoutout to these students for their leadership, kindness, and commitment to giving back. Way to represent Chippewa Hills with Warrior pride! 💙❤️

Are you missing alerts from the CHSD app? Here’s how to fix it!
We’ve heard from some of you who aren’t receiving notifications from the CHSD app. The good news? It’s usually a simple fix! Most of the time, the issue comes down to phone settings or outdated software – not the app itself.
To ensure you’re staying informed with school updates, follow these quick steps:
✅ Check Your Phone’s Software – An outdated system can block notifications
✅ Enable Notifications for the CHSD App – Make sure the CHSD app has alerts turned on!
✅ Check Your In-App Notification Preferences – Double-check that you’re subscribed to the right schools and groups
✅ Make Sure You’re Receiving Rooms Notifications: If your teacher, coach, or advisor is using Rooms, you’ll get app notifications whenever they post – but only if notifications are enabled!
✅ Restart Your Phone – A simple restart can refresh your app connections and fix notification issues
✅ Reinstall the CHSD App – Try uninstalling and reinstalling the CHSD app to refresh your settings.
You can read the full troubleshooting guide here: https://www.chsd.us/article/2096668
Thanks for using the CHSD app to stay connected with everything happening at Chippewa Hills!
