Troubleshooting Tips for the CHSD app

We've heard from some parents and community members who aren't receiving notifications from the Chippewa Hills School District app. The good news? There's usually a simple fix! Most of the time, the issue comes down to phone settings or outdated software - not the app itself.

To ensure you're staying informed with school updates, follow these quick steps:

Check Your Phone's Software: If you haven't updated your phone in a while, it may not support the latest app features. Go to your phone's settings and check for software updates.

Enable Notifications for the CHSD App: On both iPhones and Android devices, you can manage notifications in your settings.

  • iPhone Users: Go to Settings > Notifications > CHSD App > Toggle "Allow Notifications" ON

  • Android Users: Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > CHSD App > Enable notifications

Check Your In-App Notification Preferences: Open the CHSD app, navigate to Settings, and ensure you're subscribed to the schools and groups you want to receive alerts from.

Make Sure You're Receiving Rooms Notifications: If you're using Rooms to communicate with teachers, coaches, and advisors, you'll receive app notifications whenever they post updates in Rooms. Keeping your notifications enabled ensures you never miss important messages about assignments, practices, or events!

Restart Your Phone: A simple restart can sometimes refresh your app connections and fix notification issues.
