It’s Prom Week!
The Chippewa Hills Junior & Senior Prom is this Saturday, April 27 from 6-10 PM at the Little Flower Barn in Lake Isabella. Prom details can be found on our website here: https://www.chsd.us/o/chhs/page/prom-2024

We’ll introduce each of the candidates individually throughout the rest of the week, so stay tuned!
In the meantime, has your Junior or Senior gotten their Prom tickets yet? Tickets are $30 each and can be purchased during lunch!
Our High School spring parent-teacher conferences will be Thursday, April 25 from 4-7 PM. Appointments are not needed and teachers will be available in their classrooms.

On Friday, May 10 Chippewa Hills is hosting the CSAA Conference Track & Field Championships as well as home Varsity Baseball and Softball games. In an effort to accommodate these large events and keep everyone in a safe environment, May 10 will now be a half day of school as we try to reduce traffic and congestion at the secondary site. This date will run like any other half day schedule with the High School and Middle School being dismissed at 12:00 PM and Elementary Schools dismissed at 12:15 PM. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
Do you remember the sneak peak of Gage Saathoff’s table project in Mr. Hatfield’s Wood Shop class we showed you in February? Here he is with his finished project!
Gage made this dining room table featuring white oak slabs filled with a chocolate and gold epoxy center. He made the metal legs and base in his Welding class earlier this year.

Chippewa Hills schools will be closed today due to inclement weather. The Little Warriors program will also be closed. Be safe and have a great Spring Break, Warriors!
REMINDER: Friday, March 22 is an early release day for students. The High School and Middle School will be released at 12:00 PM. Elementary schools will be released at 12:15 PM.

Artworks in Big Rapids is hosting their Art Attack Exhibit featuring art created by students from our area schools! Come check out the original pieces from 20 of our Warrior artists at the Art Attack Exhibit Opening Reception this Sunday, March 10 from 11am-3pm. Artworks is located at 106 N Michigan Ave in Big Rapids. All artists, parents, students, and community members are welcome to attend!
The Board of Education meeting for Monday, March 11 has been moved to the High School Auditorium. The meeting will begin at 6:00 PM.

The green bus (22-1) from Weidman is running late. It was having mechanical issues at the school. A replacement bus is on its way to pick up students.
Tomorrow is the MSBOA District Band and Orchestra Festival at Big Rapids High School. Our High School and Middle School bands and orchestras have been preparing for this performance for months!
Here are the performance times for our Warriors tomorrow:

- MS Orchestra: 3:40 PM
- HS Orchestra: 5:55 PM
- HS Band: 6:55 PM

Michigan sports writer Tom Shanahan was a special guest in Mrs. Lobert’s Language Arts class last week! Tom is an award-winning sports writer and author, co-host of The End Game podcast, and author of 3 books. He’s a 1974 Chippewa Hills Alum who grew up in Big Rapids.
Tom talked with students about his new book, The Right Thing To Do, about Michigan State leading the nation’s college football integration efforts during the 1960’s.

Neighbors need neighbors to make a difference. When you donate blood, you can help save a local patient’s life and give hope to that patient’s family. Accident victims, premature babies, and patients who need blood transfusions to stay healthy are counting on kindhearted people like you.
Our High School National Honor Society is partnering with Versiti Blood Center of Michigan to host a blood drive on Monday, February 26 from 8 AM – 2 PM in the High School Gym. Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to participate. Homemade cookies, snacks, and drinks will be provided to all donors.
