✨ New Drones class takes flight at CHHS! ✨

This year, 29 students are part of our high school's brand-new Drones class—a hands-on science course where they’re learning engineering, coding, physics, and robotics by exploring the world of drones.

With 20 drones in the classroom, students work in teams to build skills in coding flight paths, studying flight physics, and understanding real-world applications. Guest speakers from local industries will also share how drones are used in fields like agriculture, construction, and public safety.

This exciting opportunity was made possible through the generosity of the Mecosta County Community Foundation and the Touchstone Energy Classroom STEAM Grant from Tri-County HomeWorks. Thank you for bringing Drones to CHHS!

✨ See a Need, Fill a Need! ✨

A huge thank you to Ty Jose and the McGuire family for donating two brand-new microwaves for our high school cafeteria! Thanks to their generosity, students can warm up their lunches during the school day—and our Warriors are already putting them to good use.

It’s a true example of “see a need, fill a need”—and the kind of community spirit that makes Warrior Nation so special. ❤️💙

🌟 Welcome to the Team, Rachel Dale! 🌟

We’re excited to introduce Rachel Dale, our new Mental Health Professional at Chippewa Hills High School and Mosaic School! Rachel started her career as a music teacher and later earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health from Central Michigan University. Inspired by the counselors who helped her own children, she’s thrilled to bring that same guidance and support to our students.

When she’s not at school, Rachel enjoys the outdoors, lives on a hobby farm in Mt. Pleasant, and spends plenty of time cheering on her six children at their sporting events.

We’re so glad to have Rachel join the Warrior family—welcome, Rachel! ❤️💙

✨ Enhancing Our Schools Without Increasing the Tax Rate ✨

This November, Chippewa Hills voters will decide on a bond proposal that addresses some of our district’s most pressing needs. With nearly 1,800 students learning in buildings that range from modern spaces to schools built in the 1930s, it’s time to ensure our facilities reflect the needs of today’s learners and tomorrow’s opportunities.

The bond proposal focuses on three key areas:

✅ Safety & Security – Updated entrances, secure learning spaces, and improved emergency systems.
✅ Facility Upgrades – Repairing and modernizing aging buildings to provide safe, reliable learning spaces.
✅ Community Space – Expanding gym space so students don’t have to practice late into the evening, while also creating facilities the whole community can use.

This is a responsible investment in our children, our schools, and the future of Chippewa Hills—without raising the current tax rate. The proposal maintains the levy at 2.41 mills, one of the lowest rates in the area.

📅 Election Day is November 4.

📢 Update on Free Meals for Students

Last week we shared that all students would receive free breakfast and lunch for the full school year. We’ve since learned that this funding is currently only guaranteed through September 30, 2025.

Until then, every Warrior will enjoy free breakfast and lunch at school. After September 30, the state legislature will determine whether funding for meals will continue.

To prepare for any outcome, we strongly urge families to complete and return the Child Nutrition and Benefits Application (linked on our website here: https://aptg.co/z4Xjx_). This helps determine if your child qualifies for free or reduced-price meals and also provides important support for school funding.

Families are also encouraged to contact their legislators and share how important this program is for students.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to keep you updated with the most accurate information.
