Junior Brianna Thornton is last week’s Warrior Athlete of the Week! Brianna is on the Varsity Volleyball team and always knows how to pick her team up and be a leader. Brianna gives her all every time she steps foot on the court.

Here’s the lineup of all of this week’s high school sports action:
Girls Golf is at a CSAA match at Katke Golf Course at 9AM today.
All three of our Volleyball teams host Grant tomorrow. The Freshman game starts at 4:00 PM, followed by the JV game at 5:30 PM, and Varsity takes the court at 7:00 PM.
On Thursday, Girls Golf heads to the Lady Cat Invitation at 9AM at The Links of Bowen Lake. Freshman Volleyball hosts Clare at 4:00 PM. JV and Varsity Volleyball host Tri County with those games starting at 5:30 PM and 7 PM, respectively. JV Football heads to Central Montcalm for a 6:30 PM kickoff.
Then on Friday, Cross Country competes in the MSU Spartan Invitational with the boys’ team racing at 11:50 AM and the girls running at 12:55 PM. The Varsity Football team takes on Central Montcalm for our Homecoming Game at 7 PM!

Warriors in Action: Week of September 3
Today, Girls Golf is competing in the Big Rapids Invite at Tullymore at 9:00 AM.
Tomorrow, our JV and Varsity Volleyball teams head to Reed City. The JV team plays at 5:30 PM, followed by the Varsity team at 7:00 PM. Varsity Cross Country competes in the John Bruder Classic Invitational at Shepherd, starting at 5:40 PM.
On Thursday, Girls Golf is back at it with a CSAA match at 9:00 AM at Village Green. Freshman Volleyball competes at 5:30 PM in Lakeview. JV Football takes on Reed City at 6:30 PM.
Varsity Football hosts Reed City at 7 PM on Friday.
Then on Saturday, JV Volleyball plays in the McBain invite starting at 9:00 AM.

Tonight's a RED OUT! Show your home team support by wearing red! It's also Youth Sports Night and we'd love to see all our area youth representing their teams by wearing their jerseys, no matter which sport they play!
Remember, all Chippewa Hills students get FREE admission! Children ages 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Middle School and High Schools students, please bring your student ID for admission.

The Lady Warriors Golf team placed 6th today at the Whitehall Invite! Senior Maddie Allen tied for 2nd place overall and there were lots of PR's all around!

It’s RACE DAY!
Cross Country kicks off the 2024 season today with the Early Season Warrior Invitational! 16 schools will be competing this morning at the Chippewa Hills Cross Country Course, located at the corner of M-66 and Arthur Road.
The boys race starts at 10:00 AM, followed by the girls race at 10:45 AM. At 11:30 the public is welcome to participate in an open 5K run and kids 700m fun run!

The High School fall sports season starts Monday! As a reminder, all athletes MUST have a current physical BEFORE they can join their team for practice.
Here are the practice times for our fall teams:
*Cross Country: Practice begins Monday at 7 PM at the cross country course.
*Football: Equipment issue is on Sunday with Varsity at 4 PM and JV at 4:30 PM. Practice begins Monday at 5 PM.
*Girls Golf: Practice begins Monday at 9:30 AM at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids.
*Volleyball: Tryouts are Monday-Wednesday, starting at 5 PM. Practices will begin Thursday, time TBD.

Have you gotten your sports physicals yet? The Chippewa Hills Wellness Center has limited availability for physicals before the fall sports season kickoff on August 12. There are a few appointments available yet this week, but you will need to book quickly. Please call 989-697-2290 to schedule your appointment!
Schedule your child’s sports physical ASAP at the Chippewa Hills Wellness Center! The fall sports season kicks off August 12 and all athletes must have a completed physical BEFORE they can begin practice. The CHWC gets VERY busy right before the start of season and August appointment availability is already limited. The Wellness Center’s team is encouraging parents to schedule sports physicals during July to help alleviate the August rush.
ATTENTION ROCKET FOOTBALL & CHEER PARENTS: Sign up is next week and all 7th and 8th grade athletes MUST have a current physical in order to participate.

The Warrior Golf Team ended up in 7th place at the State Finals at Ferris State University! Best finish in school history!
Cameron Morgan ended up 8th, earning All-State Honors!

The MHSAA Division 3 State Finals begin at 9 AM at Katke Golf Course on the campus of Ferris State University in Big Rapids.
Representing the Warriors are: Cameron Morgan, Brandon Slasor, Dylan Boerma, Marcus Barnes, Bode McArthur, and Tristan Maneke.
